For the golf enthusiast, there is a multitude of golf courses within 45 minutes drive,with Nenagh’s 18 hole championship course is 6 miles away where tee off times can be booked in advance. Walkers are catered for with numerous walks available through the Silvermines Mountains, the Clare Glens, the Slieve Felim way (18 Miles) and the Lough Derg way (20 Miles) all finishing locally. If you would like to take a more leisurely stroll there are a large variety of local walks from 1 mile in length upward, which should suit everyone.
Cycling is well catered for with 3 new cycling routes established and centered in the Nenagh area.

Other popular cycling routes include the Clare Glens cycle (30 Miles), the HolyCross cycle (28 Miles)and the Keeper Hill cycle (36 Miles). Which are waiting to provide you with an enjoyable challenge.
There are a vast number of variations to the mentioned routes available to suit all levels of enthusiast whether in distance or difficulty. Each route can be customized to suit your individual needs.
Historical sites such as Birr Castle Demesne,, King Johns Castle, Bunratty Castle & Folk park, Clonmacnoise Monastic Site, and the Bog Of Allen railway are all within 1 hour travel time.
If all the other options are too tiring, why not try the Lough Derg drive? A pleasant 75 mile round trip, the Lough Derg drive is a leisurely day visiting the towns and villages along the lake from Co. Tipperary in the East to Co. Clare in the West and Co.
