Lough Derg, Irelands' Pleasure Lake, is just a short distance away and offers all water sport enthusiasts plenty of opportunities to partake in a wide variety of activities such as Sailing Lessons, Yacht Cruises, sailing craft, sail boarding, wind surfing and sightseeing cruises on Lough Derg.
Lough Derg is renowned for it's Pike and Trout fishing and to help you take advantage of this, We work closely with Paul and Danny of Irish Fishing Tours. We would be delighted to organise boat hire and/or gillies to enhance your fishing experience. Refrigerator, drying area & packed lunches can be provided.
Sub Aqua Diving enthusiasts are catered for in the newly developed and Irelands first inland Dive Centre. Located in the old slate quarries near Portroe www.diveportroe.com for further details.
As Walking enthusiasts ourselves, we are happy to advise you on the numerous Looped and Linear walks available locally on North Tipperary Walking Trails From the "Knockanroe Ridge" walk in the Silvermines Mountains to the "Graves of the Leinstermen" walk in the Arra mountains, which avail of minor road, forestry and river bank offering spectacular views of North Tipperary and surrounding areas.

Cycling is well catered for with 3 new cycling routes established and centered in the Nenagh area.
These routes range from 11Km to 67Km in length with routes 1 and 2 offering stunning views of Lough Derg.Visit Nenagh Cycle Trail for more details. Other popular cycling routes include the Clare Glens cycle (30 Miles), the HolyCross cycle (28 Miles)and the Keeper Hill cycle (36 Miles), all of which are waiting to provide you with an enjoyable challenge.
There are a vast number of variations to the mentioned routes available to suit all levels of enthusiast whether in distance or difficulty. Each route can be customized to suit your individual needs.
For the Golf enthusiast, there are a multitude
of golf courses within 45 minutes drive,with Nenagh’s 18 hole championship course is 6 miles away where tee off times can be booked in advance. See Nenagh golf course for more details. Thurles and Roscrea 18 hole courses are within 30 minutes drive of Willowbrook.
Historical sites such as Birr Castle Demesne, King Johns' Castle, Limerick ,Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Clonmacnoise Monastic Site, and the Bog Of Allen railway are all within 1 hour travel time.
If all the other options are too tiring, why not try the Lough Derg drive? A pleasant 75 mile round trip, the Lough Derg drive is a leisurely day visiting the towns and villages along the lake from Co. Tipperary in the East to Co. Clare in the West and Co. Galway to the North. Your day can be rounded off with a relaxing dinner at one of the many pub/restaurants dotted around the shore line. A leisurely stroll can be taken through one of the many forest walks to build up an appetite or to help settle that wonderful meal you’ve just had. You can sit and listen to one of the many Irish music sessions laid on by the locals for all to enjoy.
